anyone watching #theResident?
there's a story w/ a new mom feeling overwhelmed. & i'm just not feeling the empathy/sympathy.
she broke lots of boundaries trying to have her baby; pushed everyone around her to make 'her dream' come true; has a support network most would 💜; & she's complaining it's 'hard'.
i know it's hard. but i have this sense she had a fantasy of babies. she shit over anyone who tried to gently point out the practical & i just don't give a shit about her.
i'm bad, right?
@singlemaltgirl no. It's hard to feel empathy for people like that.
@gabzi3la thanks! i feel bad b/c i was a single parent. & most times, i totally do feel for characters (no matter what their gender) feeling overwhelmed w/ parenting.
just this one...given the whole back story & they way she's behaved in the baby journey - i'm just, 'you're a selfish asshole. what did you think it would be like?' is just going thru my mind.
i feel like i'm a cold heartless bitch, tho. sigh.
@singlemaltgirl Some people just really are that selfish and it's harder to reserve judgement when you know more of the story.
Single parents have all of my admiration.
