My late ex's dad served multiple tours in Vietnam and elsewhere throughout SE Asia. Got drenched with AO constantly. He'd told me that vets who'd done tours in that region and had been laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery regularly had to have their plots re-sodded because AO was such a vicious defoliant. While paying our respects there back in '97, he knelt at his dad's plot and pried up many fried layers to prove it. His dad had been cremated, yet AO was still active. 😰
@fugitive247 @matuzalem OMG that’s insane!!
We just saw a friend the other day who served and he said he Just got a letter from the VA asking him to come in to get tested for agent orange. He’s 78 years old. 🙄
Huh? There's a test now for Agent Orange? Chemical, genetic, or both? Don't get me started on Agent Orange Sickness (AOS). Almost lost my first child at six days old. His 24 years on earth were always on borrowed time. Medically fragile and globally developmentally delayed, his 3rd generation case was noted in research papers by both a well known geneticist and a neurologist.
Ffs. Painful, heartbreaking memories hitting again like fresh grief. 😭
@fugitive247 @Superstitionsee I have a very rare autoimmune condition probably from it.
With his poor motor skills, poor kid sure wasn't the most graceful. Even if the whole world was Nerf & bubble wrap, he'd have a bruise somewhere.
As a toddler, not quite potty trained yet, one time he plopped his pull-up padded fanny down on one of those big Duplo type Legos. Had the imprint on his butt for nearly two weeks. Just one of countless instances where Florida CPS harassed my family relentlessly. Finally left the state just to keep our family together.
