My view right now on the new MAGA movement here in Texas.
10 districts in the Rio Grande Valley switched to MAGA. Their reasoning was not immigration, but "economy".
I'm watching their reactions when their friends and neighbors start getting snatched up, even naturalized friends/family.
Raise your hand if you think the big corp's are going to lower prices b/c Trump is in office.
Yeah, me neither.
There will be a sad day of reckoning within the year, and we'll be caught in the middle.
Republicans are about lowering wages and cutting jobs.
People need to understand this: stocks go UP when companies lay people off. It makes rich people RICHER.
There is no logical or economic reason for companies to increase wages. A business wants LOWER wages at the bottom.
That means The Valley is NOT going to see wages increase.
“It’s the economy, stupid.” Is correct—but Trump didn’t make the economy better.
Under Trump we LOST 2.7 million jobs.
I get really REALLY frustrated that people can’t seem to recall what happened four years ago much less forty. I’m a reluctant historian—meaning I like history I just don’t like the bad shit I read about (and avoiding pain, I don’t).
But JFC this is lived history. Things weren’t better four years ago. Did people forget they didn’t have jobs under Trump? Do they seriously believe it was Biden who pushed for high prices?
Trump hates the working man.
And yet they voted for him.
