I'm by no means a music historian, but I have a hard time deciding if The Clash were the greatest punk band of the time or were never really punk at all and their work just defied being classified into a genre, so were slotted as "Punk". So much going on from one track to another or even within the same song, let alone between albums and live performances.

I never really like the Clash much (although my brothers did) save for “Rock the Casba” — 🤷🏻‍♀️

@feloneouscat I like most of their stuff, just never quite knew how to classify it and still don't after decades of listening.
Rock-yes
Punk-yes
Pop-yes
Blues-yes
Reggae-yes
Etc...I feel like they're kind of their own unique thing. So there's some intrigue just in that. I get that they aren't for everyone, but not surprised that there's at least one track that you enjoy.

I agree with your statement. I really couldn’t tolerate anything else but that one song and I could groove to it.
