Trying to find when Musk immigrated. He married in 2000, but was working in the US since 1995.
Was he doing that on a student visa?!?!
@feloneouscat Wiki also notes he became a US citizen in 2002.
I mean something other than Wikipedia. There is no source showing where they got 2002. As such I don’t trust it. For all I know, Musk could have altered it.
I’m deeply distrustful of non-sourced dates and it is just the thing Musk would lie about.
Hence the need to validate.
He also dropped out after two days at Stanford while also working. This implies he was on a student visa where working is a no-no.
So my question starts morphing into, “Was he legally working in the US?”… everything I find seems to point to ‘No, he was not legally working in the US’ — which would be on brand.
@feloneouscat his brother recently admitted he was working illegally in the US for several years before getting citizenship (he owns a bunch of restaurants or something). he gave the impression that Elon & his sister did the same
@feloneouscat Elon Musk, , frequently criticizes illegal immigration. The billionaire was born in South Africa, became a Canadian citizen as a teenager and moved to the US in 1992 to attend college at the University of Pennsylvania.
Yet I still have nothing that proves he actually is a legal citizen.
If Trump can question the birth of a President, I can question if Musk is actually a legal citizen.
We know he has committed a crime by fraudulently passing himself off as a legal citizen.
All I’m asking for is proof. Should be simple, right?
Or is he another example of a white Republican voting illegally?
@feloneouscat good point
I checked out Snopes: it provided a link for the line "... U.S. citizen in 2002.".
I tapped the link; that went to a BBC article, with this unsourced statement:
"... who became a US citizen in 2002..."
=====
No "proof" yet.
Yeah, I STILL suspect it all comes down to Musk stating this.
Someone who as an account on Twitter ought to ask Musk himself.
@feloneouscat @catlynne333
Since I replied, I found one other source which indicated a location for his taking the Oath (forgot to save article)...
But I must think it's like a Birth Certificate? Doesn't he have a document with the "Seal" stamped on it?
Hmm?mmmm
@zenmudprod so glad you are searching for this @feloneouscat
@zenmudprod @feloneouscat @catlynne333 maybe a FOIA request to immigration for a copy of his citizenship decree/doc?
@feloneouscat You check the Wiki page??

According to wiki was going to school in Canada until 1992 when he enrolled at Penn.
Got a Canadian passport through his mother (who is Canadian).
