Considering his hardcore base is about 24% of voters, this makes sense.
The other 23% are the ones who were thinking about voting for him, but are too embarrassed to admit they supported him. The numbers are close to the election polling, if you add them up.

If you need to pass a minimum skills test to drive a car, you should also need to demonstrate a primary school level understanding of civics before being allowed to vote.
