“Supporters of the Supreme Court's order, including the states that filed the challenges, had argued that even partial implementation of the rules package would impose undue burdens on schools and infringe on states' rights. The 10 states are Louisiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, West Virginia, Mississippi, Montana, and Idaho.”
Huh. So human rights are undue burden?
I remember when they said the same thing about desegregation.

Everything is an “undue burden” when it involves treating people with dignity.
Republicans hate human dignity. They hate people being different than themselves.
This bullshit that it represents an undue burden has been perpetrated through decades and generations is a pattern we’ve seen over and over and over.
The “burden” is they can’t treat others as lesser.
Every damn time that is what it’s about. That is the whole point of Title IX. To prevent sex based discrimination.
Here is the text:
“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
There is nothing here that is objectionable. Adding trans doesn’t change anything.
Except that Republicans WANT discrimination. They WANT to treat people as lesser. They WANT to empower the states to treat Americans with like dirt.
@feloneouscat
They are right wing, but not right.
I know we’ve been fighting for the ERA for 50 years. It is so close.
