“The Republican Party of Texas has voted on a policy proposal that would require any candidate for statewide office to win in a majority of the state's 254 counties to secure election, effectively preventing Democrats from winning statewide positions based on the current distribution of their support.”

So even if a Democrat wins, they lose.

Republicans don’t want fair elections.

Judge them for their actions, not what comes out of their mouths.

"The Republican Party of Texas has voted..."

Say wut?

Is this a "Party platform plank"?

Didn't mention "State House" or "State Senate" so to what purpose?

Follow

@zenmudprod Minority Rule.

“ If Texas Republicans embrace this return to a county-unit type of system, they’ll actually have created something even more unequal…Harris County, the home of Houston, has a population of 4.7 million, while Loving County has a total population of 64. Harris County has a sizable black population, while Loving is (as far as I can tell) entirely white. But one vote in Loving would mean more than 70,000 votes in Harris.

SCOTUS might support it
