@feloneouscat FiveThirtyEight are not pollsters, they do a statistical analysis of a aggregation of polls. This year the GOP skewed the results by putting out junk polls which 538 treated as legit.
@cezee Yes, you are correct, they do not actively poll, but you are incorrect in that the remaining amount of work is exactly like a polling house.
You are correct that a meta-analysis is impossible if you accept every poll as valid (no matter how flawed).
At one point 538 actively looked at the raw questions and results (before weighting by polling houses).
It seems like they have given up on that.

@feloneouscat All polling, except maybe internal polling that's for use of candidates themselves, is garbage and 538 kinda the worst because they knew all those 'fake polls' put out by Republicans in the last few months were bullshit and included them anyway.
Always and forever I say, the only polls that matter are the ones where we cast our ballots.
@feloneouscat I used to find them great but, like you, have given up altogether with them.
