Cringeworthy? There's a better word for it. The GOP neither feels awkward or embarrassed by its actions. In fact, even those who know this is a waste of time voted FOR it.

They're trying to dilute the significance of Trump's impeachment via (wrongfully) impeaching Biden, so as to draw a false equivalence & make people think "look, both sides are the same!" when in reality one side are a bunch of fascists who want to turn the nation into a dictatorship (R)... and the other side are just bog-standard establishment neoliberals with a few cringey ideas (D).
The latter is definitely the lesser of the two evils by far.
