@Krysdammit I think I made them once. But the "hard rocks" turned me off enough that I didn't make 'em again.
It used to be that a local grocery emporium carried one brand of pfeffermusse but they no longer do.
@Krysdammit We're mostly-paleo... or at least try to be. So I don't think I'd permit myself to make an entire recipe!

My reicpe doesn't have the water/icing sugar glaze but a type of Meringue instead. It's a huge recipe and freezes really well. We always had a few left for Easter Sunday. No candied citrus but fresh zest instead. Alas, I'm allergic to the spices and it's bland without them. Kids are adults and I no longer bake them.
