“Thank you so much for thinking of me and sending me this beautiful gift from <insert company name>. Unfortunately, and you may not be aware, I’m unable to indulge at this time because of strict dietary guidelines. I’ll love sharing them with someone else but please know your thoughtfulness is sincerely appreciated .”

^^^You see, I’m always a fan of being upfront with people. I prefer to let them know at the get go. I’ve always appreciated that for myself when the occasion arose being on the giving end. When honest mistakes occur, I think that’s true of most people. It also, by doing it, prevents reoccurrence in the future.
@estherschindler regift them? And tell the gifter later that you are doing paleo.
Have someone else hide it in the yard.
Paleo was all about what you could find to eat.
If you find it' it's paleo!
@estherschindler you regift and say nothing
@estherschindler
I re-gift what I can't/don't use, thank the giver profusely, and try to gently bring up the allergy/dislike/unsuitability of the gift in a conversation with the giver sometime in the future.
YMMV...hth.
