😂😂
Called Daisy, or "dAIsy," the voice-based AI mimics a senior citizen to hold meandering conversations with phone scammers - In a video demonstrating Daisy, soundbites from real conversations show scammers becoming increasingly exasperated, being kept on the phone for upwards of 40 minutes, and holding out hope they will get a credit card number or bank details. The AI model that O2 made sounds very convincing—it’s doing all the processing in real-time
So, people can't actually use daisy themselves the scammers phone daisy direct because 02, the company that made daisy, has added daisy, as a phone number, to a list that scammers use called "mugs list" - mug lists are basically lists loadsa scammers make then pass on, or sell, to other scammers etc....lists that are made up mainly on the darknet 02 managed to get daisy, which is basically a phone number, added to they lists as a potential "mark"
02 being an actual mobile phone company can give daisy an unlimited supply of phone numbers and no doubt not all they numbers will use "daisy" as a name - mug lists have not only peoples phone numbers, they could have people's addresses, and other info linked to that phone number - 02 will need to change all that creating a fake persona for daisy
Anyhooooo
just thought I'd add to this cause some were thinking people could actually use daisy themselves
@ecksmc ☕ ☕ ☕
definitely a need today 🙏🏻
we need this🇨🇦
@ecksmc Finally, an actual use for AI.
@ecksmc Definitely going to look into this; would be a godsend for those of us with elder relatives ❤️🙏❤️
@JGSchaeffer only for UK
Daisy is trained on real anonymized scammer data in partnership with well-known scambaiter Jim Browning of the YouTube channel Tech Support Scams - Daisy isn’t an AI feature you can add to your personal phone account, rather it is a phone number that O2 has managed to get added to a list of online ‘mugs lists’ used by scammers targeting UK consumers
People can't actually use it themselves
@ecksmc wow cool wouldnt help me though i am on minutes
if you get a spam, scammer, call you report that number to 02, the network that made daisy, 02 then add it to a list - Daisy isn’t an AI feature you can add to your personal phone account, rather it is a phone number that O2 has managed to get added to a list of online ‘mugs lists’ used by scammers - scammers actually call "daisy"

how do you report numbers to them?
i have a few i'd like to add to their program😈
@holon42 if you watch the video, 1st post of thread, there is number in that at end
If you get a scammer calling you you then text the number the scammer calls from to that number at end in video - uk only but since it uses a text only number for reporting numbers and 02 are a uk mobile provider
@holon42 The goal of the project is to keep the scammer on the phone for as long as possible just to waste their time
That way if their on call with daisy they can't be scamming others
👍
yes, i've seen some youtube videos of people doing that, but it would be a perfect use of AI, just what it's made for 😂😂😂
@holon42 you should check out Jim Browning of the YouTube channel Tech Support Scams

Hes a master at scamming the scammers
He was also instrumental in helping dAIsy become the AI scam time waster - no doubt 02 asked him to help because of his YouTube channel he'd be a valuable source for what sorta things the AI would need to say to keep the scammer hooked
