"I can’t help but acknowledge that the only thing that was accomplished by resisting Trump was less understanding and more division among Americans"

open.substack.com/pub/kasparia

And this part 😬 once you read the context *yikes*

"Not only did I suddenly see the flawed thinking of some on the left, I also witnessed their cruelty and hypocrisy in real time"

@ecksmc I think the comedian Orlando Jones put it best when addressing those people who still fly the Confederate Flag: Go ahead, fly that flag. Let the rest of us know where the assholes live so we can avoid you.

@ecksmc note that she is nitpicking the stupidest examples from stupid people on the left. Her narrative, even when she explicitly states only "some people" are like this this, makes it seem like the whole left is like this in a sense inviting the thought that maybe the far right isn't that wrong after all. I call drama BS.

@damian_reloaded shes not nitpicking shes telling you her experience

Its what happened to her and her experience after what happened after - that isn't drama bs

She didn't create the drama others did after she shared a personal experience

@ecksmc I hope she also writes editorials about men telling her that her body is their choice and that her role in life is making them a sandwich.

@ecksmc Bullshit. Grow up. Watch your trauma deepen under this administration. You safe yourself, idiot. Nobody does that for you over social media.

@ecksmc That's why I don't lump voters who put a given party or group in power together with that party/group as a monolith.

I treat them as separate entities - the people who voted the Trumpublicans in aren't the same as Trump or his circle of cronies; the voters are not a monolith, & most of them are just uninformed/misled rubes... not the enemy, just "useful idiots".

Trump, his circle of cronies, & politicians/other authority figures who align with him, on the other hand, *are* the enemy.

@ecksmc I also don't align with mainstream "left" or "right" movements, because my own views are syncretic - specifically built with internal consistency in mind, unlike however the fuck
the mainstream left and right pick their schizophrenic blends of self-contradictory views.

The root of the problem here is that two-party systems are intrinsically problematic - certain kinds of perturbations can cause a polarization death spiral, and that's exactly what we're seeing happen before our eyes.

@IrelandTorin

Agree I've never been loyal to any political party myself - said it many times before - vote on merit mater what party it is vote for what policies they offer - policies that might help you but ultimately policies that will help the majority

Political parties IMO just make people more divided - most, younger, people, anyway, don't bother looking into actual polices they just vote a certain party cause their mum/dad voted for them

@IrelandTorin

its not until older they look at policies and usually that's when most change from voting one party to another - people change and peoples thinking changes - unfortunately most politicians bullshit their way to getting votes

Politicians need to be held more accountable for the bullshit lies they say what other job can you get away with bullshitting so much? Kinda why the world is so fuck't up politically
