Watching a bunch of notable infosec accounts jumping on board the #Threads bandwagon makes me want to scream.
If you would expect anyone to carefully read privacy policies and app permissions, you'd think it would be these people.
They did the same thing with #Bluesky and I lost respect for those people when that happened. This one is even worse.

projrct 29 death threats and fall outs with admins lmao
@voltronic nope meta are not really in control that said what deal has been done some big admins had meetings and signed NDA's which kindda started this whole thing off
yeah the admins are in two camps "block from day 1" and "we will see what happens"
all in all mastodon admins are inn control with the blocking that for sure
interesting to see what happens as some users of instances have fell out with the "block form day 1" guys
will be interesting to watch -
@voltronic why meta choice this method is strange
they coulda developed an app withoutn AcvitPub not like mastodon has billions of users it's got a few million a drop in the water for mets really
deffo hidden agnda i'd say
@voltronic also users can block domains from their own settings it doesn't take admins to go full metal block mode
if individual users don't like threads showing they can block thread domain themselves
@ecksmc
I don't think Meta can force the Mastodon instances to accept or do anything. I think that if they try to get aggressive, the other instances will block them as mentioned in these articles.
The whole thing is off.
