This just so sucks because on the days that he wasn't here I kept him informed and up-to-date what was going on and he always had my back... I can't concentrate today It just feels like everything's fucked up now

@Jezibaba yeah he was an active alcoholic real bad and personally I think he was involved in other things and a co-worker thinks he got some shit that was cut with fentanyl

@duglop sounds like he had a lot of trouble getting his life together. I'm sorry for the pain it causes you, personally and professionally.

@Jezibaba thank you yeah it's affecting the whole plant because he was well liked, tonight's just a horrible night all around all of our coolers which each is the size of a house are all maxed out and they're running twice as much as normal so we're really fucked up right now as a company, let alone trying to pull out a shipment and bring in more incoming at the same time really bad night I've never seen it this bad on top of dealing with what we're dealing with

@duglop one shit at a time. One hour at a time. If you have your head down, I understand. I also hope they're hiring more people asap to alleviate some of this pressure. Why are the coolers maxed?

@Jezibaba because we got so much cold chain running and they're not shipping anything out, we produce about 50 pallets of cold chain a day per shift alone, And we have told them many times the coolers cannot keep up with how much we are producing compared to shipping I have four house size coolers all of them are full including the floors, And here's the funny thing they are installing two more cold chain lines, before installing another cooler go figure...

@duglop are you moving a variety of goods or just one thing?

@Jezibaba dozens of different medications we're pharma, largest of its kind in the world, It started out mostly ambient medications but then they started running cold chain and cold chain really took off now almost everything is cold chain which is a lot of work

@duglop sounds like it. Have you been with them a while?

@Jezibaba going on two years but I've done this kind of work for 30 plus years so that's why they gave me all kinds of responsibility right off the bat because I have a proven track record...

@duglop and an incredible work ethic. Don't let them grind you down

@Jezibaba thank you I appreciate that, I have trained four or five people there but two of them no longer work there and one of them runs My old department, and then the guy that helps out when I need it and when he can, but he's not actually my department I'm hoping that changes real soon though because him and I work really well together

@duglop it will be interesting to see what happens, eh?

@Jezibaba We have like four or five locations right here in Rockford, locations in California one in Philadelphia and other locations worldwide

@Jezibaba yeah like I said he may not have the best track record for attendance but when he wasn't there and I needed to sound off to somebody or vent because of the bullshit, it was him that I vented to because he would understand absolutely everything and it was my ideas that we would run with and basically let me call the shots... I've got a pretty good rapport with material management so, at least for the time being on 2nd shift it's totally my show

@duglop sounds like you're a shoe-in. Hopefully they make it official and not keep it as an assumption.

@Jezibaba there IS another guy that I trained but is currently filling in for another co-worker that had a stroke a month ago and is back in the hospital not doing well. We don't expect him to come back.. it's not a very difficult job to do once you get the gist of it but it's a matter of having the time to train somebody because it's a very fast-paced environment, I never stop moving throughout the day cuz my department is the busiest department in the plant

@Jezibaba I just feel pretty bad about getting upset with him for all the times he'd blow off work and I'd have to do double duty even though I knew part of what was going on behind the scenes....

@duglop give yourself a time limit on feeling bad. He was an adult making his choices.

@duglop

Sorry for your loss. The only consolation now, is the knowledge that his battles are no more. Strength, mercy, and compassion to those dealing with the aftermath. 🕯️🕊️

@Jezibaba

@Horrrflmlvr The guy in my department that keeps taking FMLA and never shows up passed away this morning
