@duglop Amusing as this is, the engines of that era were far less complex and had much looser tolerances. You could do those things without needing specialized training. Of course those engines also got 8 or 12 miles to the gallon and spewed nitric oxide and partially burned hydrocarbons. And frankly, it was more like 60-70 years ago.

@duglop I do agree that liability laws have gotten a bit out of hand. And we do have too many warnings. If you don’t know not to use a toaster in the bath tub, well, you’re in for a shock.

@sfleetucker ok then! Not sure what ya want me to say there sorry...

@duglop The point of the meme is that we’ve gotten more stupid, but the example they use is a poor one. No need for you to engage my pedantry with the meme creator.

@sfleetucker huh? I already knew the point of the meme :D and the example they use is actually true... warnings today literally state that... so yeah

@sfleetucker kind of like when we had to explain to people not to eat Tide Pods...

@sfleetucker You said they keywords yourself my friend.... also the reason warnings became so stupid is because PEOPLE became so stupid - back in the day we didn't have to warn people NOT to eat laundry soap or drink poisons - but today we have to because people are just that dumb now :)
