To my non-american friends that do not live in the United States, I want to know what your thoughts are about USA now as we stand, don't be shy!

@duglop i'm 🇨🇦 but spent quite a bit of time studying 🇺🇸 politics & social movements when in uni.

the 🇺🇸 has been a great hope of what modern democracy & potential for progressive society could be. but, it's held back by its slavery past, racism, white supremacy & puritan roots. now other countries have far surpassed the 🇺🇸 in the ideals of progress, democracy, a truly healthy society. holding the 🇺🇸 up as better than china or the mid east isn't a comparison against the best but the worst. imho.
