Ontario Hits Foreign Homebuyers With 20% Tax as Election Nears
The so-called speculation tax will apply to homes bought anywhere in the Canadian province by foreign nationals and foreign companies, provincial Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy said in a statement Tuesday. Currently, the tax is 15% and applies only to homes in Toronto and surrounding areas.

Why does part of me worry that even that isn't enough?

With seemingly EVERYTHING that the system can manage is becoming a scarce resource, I'm wondering if all rental property has to go through an upheaval of sorts? Before every other house, everywhere, stands either empty, or no one can afford to live?

Soon we'll all be living in a single room of an eleven room house sharing a single bathroom...
