My stepson, told hubs he's voting for 45 a few weeks ago. I just texted and asked him for a minute of his time. I'm legit curious.

@misslovelymess Good luck. I can only hope my son and daughter-in-law don’t vote for dumpster, but I can’t be absolutely sure. We do not breathe a word of politics around them. I really could not bear our family being torn apart by politics.
They do know how we feel and how we vote. I’m hoping that’s enough.
@GrandmaJ @misslovelymess I'm hoping I can head this off by talking politics with my kids while they're young. I want them to know what's happening in the world (to an age-appropriate extent), I want them to know how I vote and more importantly WHY. I want to instill progressive values in them as early as possible, and maintain that political conversation as they grow up so there's no room for them to fall down a rabbit hole and end up radicalized.
@dietotaku @misslovelymess I wish you the very best. We were doing fine till our son was in HS.. He shot basketballs with a group of friends at an evangelical church. Then the church said he had to go there in order to play with those guys. It was all downhill from there. He came home screaming at me, “why didn’t you tell me I had to be saved.” Sigh. We went to the Presbyterian Church. I tried to explain churches just do things differently.
Just keep your kids away from evangelical church.
@dietotaku I attend church with my husband, but I am also an atheist. I struggled for a long time feeling very hypocritical, but then decided our marriage and his happiness were far more important. He is definitely a believer and a Christian (a good one). Luckily, the Presbyterian Church we go to is very liberal. I can tolerate an hour a week. lol.
