and those hot spots are predominantly in red states, begging the question whether it's because housing prices are cheaper and people are short-sighted & stupid, or whether they're just following their jobs which are increasingly moving to pro-corporate anti-worker states

@dietotaku

ONLY reason my husband and I are in Texas is his job. He has been trying to stay within the company but move to another location. That hasn't been easy. We're not the only ones trying to get into those positions.

Only reason my sister ended up in TX is her husband's job. She never wanted to get stuck here. But, now her kids are marrying Texans and having kids, and she wants to be near them, so she's resigned. I've never hated living anywhere more, and I've moved 19 times.

@Agatha not the kids marrying texans nooooo 😭 my daughter was telling me when her 3rd grade class was talking about the 2020 election, ALL of her classmates said they would vote for the republican. she's also the only atheist in her grade. feels like i'm raising the only kids in this state with any critical thinking skills. one of the reasons i'm pushing so hard for her to get into MIT is so she can get the fuck out of this hellhole.

@dietotaku

Oh her kids are atheists and they're liberals. 😂

They're helping change Texas from the inside.
