@AskTheDevil how? i get that apple profits by making their OS proprietary so you have to buy products made by apple in order to use their OS, but if i want an android phone i don't have to buy a pixel. samsung is the most popular brand but they're too expensive for me so i don't get them either. i'm usually getting some knock-off brand because it's what comes free with my prepaid no-contract line of service. i'm not sure how google makes money when i buy a ZTE phone.
@dietotaku Those companies have to pay licensing fees, and that Google also makes fees from anything installed on the app store. Even if they gave away the rights for free, they'd still make money the more android phones are out there, because they have multiple streams of revenue from them.
