that's not "voters not paying attention," that's straight up "voters being idiots." blaming Biden for the loss of abortion rights is like blaming Obama for 9/11.
there is not a single good reason for someone who liked Biden in 2020 to dislike him now. the calculus is the same on EVERY. SINGLE. METRIC. the only thing that's changed is how much worse Trump has gotten as an alternative, largely because of January 6 and the fact that it is more clear than ever how he disdains democracy and aspires to stay in power (and wield that power despotically) by any means necessary.
this is still making a choice, and specifically it's choosing Trump. choosing not to stand in opposition to Trump is choosing to allow his ascension.

you know what makes me extra angry about this? katie porter can't run for re-election in the house now which means she's out of congress entirely for a minimum of 2 years. not only does that mean NO ONE in the house calling out CEO bullshit, once you're out of office it is monumentally harder to get elected again. ask beto. i'm legitimately worried that we just lost our best chance at the first female president.
