Considering re-registering as an independent.

@dauphin87 @RetiredLEexec
I have never been active in a party. I always vote but have been registered variously based on practical considerations. In recent years I am registered D because I usually end up voting for dems. Do you think changing our affiliation might really have a beneficial impact?

@HopeSeeker

for me -- and only for me -- the choice of party designation was a statement of identity. a trust in a long term touchstone of like mindedness. a tribe I could always turn to.

over decades I have had ... problems? issues? concerns? about the Democratic Party's approach to some things. but I've always stuck with them. this time, they changed the rules and made my primary vote moot. literally choosing for me.

if I'd wanted Kamala over Biden I could have written her in

@dauphin87

@HopeSeeker

I don't believe that me leaving the party will have any measurable effect in general.

but it is one drop, one measure against the theft. it was the final straw and I've responded to it.

for everyone else their own choices and standards should always apply.

@dauphin87

@dauphin87 "unaffiliated" is what I am because of how things went awhile ago when DNC Dems did not play fair.

I did vote for Kamala, I did. And I liked her smarts and strength. I'll vote for who I think is best.
