Hi CoSo! Just a brief drive-by as gulp for air at work.

Could Alzheimer’s actually be an autoimmune disease not a brain disease? Interesting theory:

Interesting! Could it actually be an autoimmune disease that impacts one’s neurological system - thereby being both? Or could it be the reverse?

In either case, it is a progressive disease with no cure in sight. Sad😔

@Soldier_Solitude

If it is an autoimmune disease, I think Alzheimer's prevention might be linked to improved gut health. As it is, a British study which came out in May indicates that the prebiotics FOS and inulin, taken for 3 months, resulted in increased memory function in those over 60.

My wife worked with dementia patients for over 40 years. She's always thought Alzheimers is associated with environmental factors.

Remember when it was aluminum? I've always suspected aerosol 0deodorants. Interesting article. 30 years of futility? Oh my.

@danalan @evamarie @Soldier_Solitude like Parkinson’s, Dementia is a cluster of symptoms given as a means of recognition and treatment planning. However, there can be more than a single etiology that manifests into those symptoms. Examples: heroin induced Parkinson’s & Dementia from exposure to petrochemicals (vascular dementia) or Dementia from frontal lobe trauma.

I believe that the environment is a factor in many ailments affecting people. The question is: what environmental conditions provide an aide to the development of this illness?
