At the Calder exhibit at Seattle Art Museum. Just got told off for blowing on a mobile.
His art was designed to move - but the museum can't allow it to be shown that way, in case it gets damaged.
Considering how simply one could reproduce/ repair the works, they really aren't displaying his art, but simply his constructions.
They learn this in "art" school, I guess.
@ToolPackinMama They truly don't want the mobiles to move. The exhibit is titled: "Calder: Art in Motion". Unironically.
