We just finished The Acolyte - a total pile of 💩IMO. Rogue One and the 1st season of Mandalorian are the only good things to come from Star Wars since the originals. It’s all been, (in newer Star Wars language) Sky Trash!
It’s so sad to see the Lucas legacy stomped on and thrown in the garbage disposal 😔

@MrsSpear Actually, this pretty much IS his legacy. The first movie was the first cinema feature to have a line of merchandise tied in with it - toys, trading cards (5 sets), lunch boxes, etc. "Star Wars" was a surprise hit. Lucas quickly figured out that merchandising is where the real money lay, so the next 2 movies focused less on story telling and more on selling toys to kids, with ROTJ being almost exclusively a merchandising vehicle aimed at 6 year olds.
Success in Hollywood is based exclusively in dollars. Audience numbers, critical acclaim, awards, and popularity aren't factored in. At all.
As far as Hollywood is concerned, Lucas's legacy is the stuff of legend. His every move prints more money, no matter how peurile or disgusting.
"Transformers: Age of Extinction" made a billion dollars, and as far as Hollywood is concerned it was a massive, blockbuster success.
