I see Hamas picked the architect of their October 7th attack on civilians as their new leader. Whatever you think of the current events in Israel and Gaza, it's worth remembering that Hamas are absolutely terrorists and not serious about any peaceful solution.

Yes, sorry. Of course individuals are upset & just want peace. However, collectively they want to win. It's "Them vs Us", and US always takes precedence.
@danalan I'd argue that there are citizens on both sides that want it, but that the Netanyahu government and Hamas are not serious about peace.
