@culinarycara In the meantime if you do any crop to the photo it'll fix.
@researchbuzz oh, thanks for the workaround tip!
It's a #CoSoFEATURE. We strip EXIF metadata when you upload; iPhones inconveniently store orientation data there.
Make any edit at all to the photo before uploading, just save it in the orientation you want before posting.
Boy, I get tired of typing this over and over.
The reason is that stuff like your location is ALSO in the EXIF data, it's a privacy and security measure.
@culinarycara seeing the same thing; I think itβs a mobile app bug (not sure though).
@culinarycara This is a known issue and a "feature".
CoSo strips off metadata to protect privacy, but this can also strip off instructions to display the photo in a particular orientation.
I haven't run into this myself, but I suspect it can be fixed by editing the image so that it's actually stored the way you want it displayed.
@culinarycara Hi! When you upload pictures to CoSo the metadata is stripped to preserve your privacy. Apple includes orientation information in its metadata so pictures go sideways. @th3j35t3r is working on a fix.
