Know the signs of heat exhaustion.
Weakness.
Headache.
Cramps.
Muscle pain.
Heavy sweating.

STOP. Get to shade. Drink water, or Pedialyte is better.
Rest, stop working.

Don't fuck around with heat exhaustion, it can rapidly turn into heat stroke.
And heat stroke is deadly.

Also if you recently suffered heat exhaustion, you are much more likely to suffer it again and worse.

The next step is heat stroke, and that can be fatal

@corlin excellent PSA💗
Surveying I used to keep bandanas in ice in a cooler. It helped a lot. Head and or neck.

@damselfly59 I picked up one of these to try out and will be buying more if they work well. Son works in a hotter part of the county in an unconditioned shop and I'm concerned for him this summer. It seems like a good system that cools from the frozen inserts, then from the water evaporating from them and he'll have 3 extras in his lunch box to swap out through the day.

Yes do let us know.

btw: I learned that trick from a cement worker building the Dan Ryan Expressway (I-94) in Chicago.

This guy was a proud member of what is now called "LIUNA Chicago Laborers’ District Council".

I know steel workers are hard workers, and get some glory, but for my money, the laborers are bigger, tougher, and work harder.

@corlin Hahahahahaha! PS -Ironworkers and Steelworkers are entirely different things, man!@damselfly59
