Sometimes I like to go out into the nearby forest on moonless nights. Like tonight. Not necessarily for a walk, but for a listen. The forest at night is never completely silent. And because it is very dark that seems to enhance my ability to hear. Perhaps it is just psychological. Tonight I didn't go far, and brought a camp chair to sit, and become still. Eyes dark adapted. Just listening. Not trying to identify the small sounds. Just listening. Listening.
Came back inside, to reflect. Put this on the box, softly.
