Angela Chen on Asexuality in a Sex-Preoccupied World.
Asexual people, or “aces,” haven’t been front and center in the public discussion of gender and sexuality, and as a result there is confusion about such basic issues as what “asexuality” even means. Angela Chen is an ace herself, and she’s written a new book about asexuality and how it fits into the wider discussion of sex and gender.

I would be interested in your take on the book. I too ordered it. Not yet read. I have a personal take on all this. For about 25 years, I self identified as asexual. Then just a few years ago, I found a friend, that was pretty much the same. We sort of talked, and felt our way out of it. We each still have what you might say, is a very low libido. Yet we do enjoy each other company.
We are not confused by any of this. It is just the way we are put together.
@corlin I'll let you know. As someone born in the age and environment where you didn't speak of these things I've suppressed a lot. I've only just started the journey of discovery.
So glad you found a person to talk to, I'm sure that helps. If you don't mind may I pick your brain after I'm done reading?
@PurpleDragon
Absolutely.
Any time.
Funny thing happens when you get older. One losers all shame, and all that bullshit about sex.
Now in my youth I had a very active sex life. Then about when I hit my late 30’s.. it just drained away.
It has been a real trip to find it again.
@corlin Thanks, ordered for my kindle.
