@FayreLylith
Try these fixes..
Most likely the phone is over heating, and slowing it self down

@corlin Rog...I'm not sure that's the issue-the phone isn't warm to the touch (in the past it has heated up with use). The update seems to have created more of a problem than it solved. My laptop is virtually useless. It took about 10 min. for CoSo to load, and I can't stream anything on it because of the lag. I'm pretty ticked about it.
@FayreLylith
ok, first off. I believe you.
My concern is something is running a lot of cycles. could be malware, or other bad software. The fact that it is both the phone and the laptop, is very suspicious.
Very hard to diagnose on chat.
For the laptop it should be fairly easy to revert to an older system, without losing any data, or settings.
the phone is a bit tougher to do that.
But it can be done.
do a search to find out how to downgrade to an older operating system.
@corlin Thank you-much appreciated. Turns out it was something with the (very small) network I have here. I recycled the modem & router, and that seems to have cleared the issue. I'm running sophos as my antivirus, and want to shift that do bitdefender, but I need to circumvent apple's "you can't download anything unless it's from the Apple store or an id'd developmer", which bitdefender seems to fall outside of...?
hmmmmm.π€
bitdefender is in fact in the app store.

Not good.
I would delete the app from your phone. and down load it from the app store.
@FayreLylith
BTW
Do you know how to get around that. If it ever happens again?
It is pretty simple.
Try and launch program, and get warring.
Then open system preferences. Go to Security and Privacy
click on the General tab.
Then click on the gold lock on the bottom left.
Enter your system password.
Then you should see.
Something like "This app was prevented from loading"...
Go ahead and click launch anyway.
and you aredone !
@corlin I saw that-but was a little afraid to do it that way! π I'll go ahead and download it from the app store! Much appreciated!
@corlin appreciate the insight...!
@corlin I'll do that right now...it's on my MBP
