Lori Vallow sentenced to life. That's sure more than her two children got. Save the money and do a public execution. Maybe it will slow the next nutcases down who want to attempt this. Unpopular opinion maybe, but it is still mine. cnn.com/2023/07/31/us/lori-val

@CinnamonGirlE It hasn’t deterred them so far, I doubt it will anytime soon. I’m torn about capital punishment. If you absolutely, with no room for a sliver of doubt, know they’re guilty and it was one or more particularly heinous crime, I could possibly be good with that, but if you’re wrong and they are innocent, you can’t take death back.

@cjcrew
I understand. And there are instances of it being wrong; more than one. So yes, but her? She did this. Despicable.
Honestly? I don't know if anything would stop her or people like her.
I would certainly like to see Justice executed in a horrific way for her just like those poor kids must have felt.

@CinnamonGirlE She’s guilty, I have no problem with this happening to her. I was just thinking out loud because I’ve seen this done falsely too often, mostly in custody cases, ruining an innocent person’s reputation because that type of accusation never really goes away. Sorry, I usually try to not say these things out loud because I don’t want to bring doubt to a true accusation.

@cjcrew
No need to be sorry. We all have our beliefs. I don't disagree with wrong convictions. They are as appalling as the murders, etc. But in cases where we KNOW they are guilty. Ironclad. Why should they live? Why should we feed and shelter them? This is what I am talking about. No drawn out appeals, lingering for decades and torturing the victims families. No life when they have callously taken others.

@CinnamonGirlE Because repentance is never completely off the table, and quite often, except in the case of a true sociopath, there is guilt to be lived with, maybe even tortured by. But more importantly, because without mercy we are exactly like them.

Don’t get me wrong, I want to see her suffer just like those children suffered under her, but I do think it’s also important I don’t stoop to her level.

@cjcrew

Her repentance does those kids no good. Perhaps in a next life for her depending on beliefs. But there are true sociopaths. And psychopaths. And just damaged dangerous people. To pretend otherwise is crazy.
I hardly think my wish for justice, for someone who has done what they have done, makes me the same as them. After all, my kids are still here. And it sure wasn't always easy. Now if it is worse torture for them to live? And it may be. I can get on board with that.
