I love the DC Star Trek comics. They were screwed from the start, as they picked up right after Star Trek II and exist in an alternate timeline where they kept having to adjust for TSFS and TVH. Eventually, Kirk ended up Captain of the Excelsior.
It had a good supporting cast of interesting non-canon characters and, as seen in your picture, they used M'Ress (and also Arex) from the animated series.
