Yo, @th3j35t3r - I just had a bad Brave experience. One other person complained to the devs. Have you seen a case like... brave won't start. If you drill down on the running task it's property "name" is "old_chrome. You can't taskkill it. However, you can rename it and reboot. Then everything is fine and you can reinstall. Very strange, possible malware?
@chakaal No idea - never had any brave issues.

Still use Firefox as primary, but I need Chrome-ish things for work. Brave always worked fine for me, but I soured on them when this happened:

Now I use Ungoogled Chromium instead. An extra step required to install extensions from the Chrome Store, but I'm very happy with it.

@voltronic @th3j35t3r @chakaal tried Vivaldi? Chromium-based browser founded by one of the guys behind the Opera browser. https://vivaldi.com/
@knewman Yes, I use Vivaldi, Chrome, Brave, Opera. I avoid Firefox because it blocks things I need, and IE, because. Edge I disable.
@th3j35t3r I think now it was a failed update. Before I so precipitously issued the reboot, I did notice the file date. The update was at or about the same time. Something got wrapped. I was thinking if it were an exploit I got from some other browser, it wouldn't show a Brave badge but a Chrome one, and it wouldn't be so easy to defeat.
