Normally, a candlelight vigil evokes feelings of reflection and hope. This past Friday’s vigil, sadly, evoked feelings of anger. In March 2022, a local prayer and peace vigil drew over 400 people, remarkable in a small town here in North Carolina. Friday’s vigil drew 50-60 people. I worry that the Ukrainian immigrants who attended both events thought interest in their struggle was waning, but the problem was *abysmal publicity*. Nobody even knew this was happening.
