My sensible side keeps telling me to read a book. Cancellations loom large with my students that are seniors and everything they looked forward to was cancelled yesterday. Yes, the right thing to do.and yet for years they’ve looked forward to grad-nite, prom, graduation ceremony, concerts, award ceremonies, etc. Their senior year will be different.
@carmahaz 💔Sad for the students & hard(er) for the parents & adults who have to explain the why's of everything shutting down & how this, a lasting memory, will be tarnished forever; there are no do-overs for them in this, their final young adult educational year.
@Gramdma2011 @carmahaz my daughter seems rather stoic about it, her friends are far more visibly emotional. In the past weeks every huge event she has been looking forward to has been canceled. Her requested senior trip to Disney we were planning to start tomorrow has now been canceled. It's a lot for a teen to manage. I'm sad she has lost the fun experiences and now has this.

On his way home multiple National Guard mash convoy heading west on 156 toward 101. Waiting for the email saying my schools will be closed. Wondering if the seniors will be able to graduate at all this school year. Wondering how many kids will eat with no school lunches. Fighting depression and trying to keep positive for my kids, grandkids and students. As I’m sure all are
