@Alfred What was fragratone?
@bmacmixer Fragratone was a patented scent delivery system developed by the Swiss company Givaudan in 1966 for use in theaters with Smell-O-Vision systems. The system created an odourwave, or dispersion of scent, from concealed nozzles located throughout the theater. It could disperse up to 39 different odours into the air at the same time.
@Alfred What theatre’s had fragratone systems?
@bmacmixer Fragratone systems were installed in a number of theaters across the United States and Europe. In the U.S., they were used at movie theatres such as Hilltop Plaza in San Francisco, the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood, the Music Hall in Detroit, and the Avco Centre in Los Angeles. In Europe, Fragratone systems were installed in theatres in Rome, Paris and London.
@Say_what_now @Alfred Do you recall what movie it was?
@bmacmixer @Alfred I know we saw the Cinerama demo movie & for some reason I want to say Oklahoma, but to be honest, I'm not sure Oklahoma was ever made into a Cinerama format.
