@mikeflstfi I searched for years to find this one in near mint condition. It's from the same year I was born. Paid to have it fully serviced, worth every penny.
@bfgreen
I’d love to get my hands on an Omega Constellation from my birth year (‘67). I’ve been looking. I see them every so often on Chrono24.
@bfgreen Nice! Much nicer to look at.
@ACG2 I think so. This was a gift to me that I tracked down used over 20 years ago. It's the same year as me - and we're both still ticking along well ;-)
@mikeflstfi that's a classy look too. Nice work.
@bfgreen
Thank you. I can’t be bothered to play the game with a Rolex authorized dealer, so I doubt I’ll ever own a real one. But I love the simplicity of it and its legibility.
Yours are just as beautiful.
My oldest son inherited his dad’s Rolex when he passed. Younger son is not impressed with brand names. His watch keeps him alive as it’s a very sophisticated scuba diving watch. And very expensive.
Are Rolex made by hand or machined?
@LnzyHou @mikeflstfi machined manufactured, hand assembled and quality checked - I believe.
Rather have your handmade watch.
Always include your Etsy link please.
@LnzyHou @mikeflstfi makes me wonder how we better support our fellow cosonauts here through their various hobbies, stores, and projects? Do we have a community of makers or sellers in a consolidated way? I admit I have not explored communities. #supportcoso
Adding a link is not obtrusive. But your choice. I’ll lay off.
@LnzyHou
No harm, no foul. I appreciate you rooting for me and I think there *are* instances where I’m less uncomfortable including a link.
I’m the same way with my guitar stuff too.
I have an unrealized fear of others seeing me as someone using CoSo as a way to solely make money. And it’s not that, for me.
/@bfgreen
Clearly not. I block folks who are only here to sell books, knitted garments, etc.
@mikeflstfi @I do believe sharing a passion or talent is a little more then simply spam promoting. I wouldn't find it intrusive at all for an occasional link. I think it's more about the real live interaction that a person does and you have always clearly done that. So feel free to toot your own horn on occasion. ❤️ LnzyHou
@mikeflstfi I totally like your music and watch posts, and you are a strongly interactive here, not a "seller". Links would never bother me.
But, you could always add the very casual "link in bio" for music/watch posts. The ultimate passive "I have stuff elsewhere, but only if you're interested".
@bfgreen yeah if I could afford/justify an Omega I’d retire my apple watch. I really don’t care about the digital display, would be great to have the sensor package on a real watch and use the phone as the display (not at all your point, I get it).
@bfgreen i used to have that same watch. i had to put it on a wide leather band though, because i'm allergic to the stainless steel back.
@redenigma yikes! I thought the whole purpose of 316L stainless steel was that it is hypo-allergenic?
@bfgreen i have allergies to stainless steel, nickel & gold. base metal jewelry gives me hives too. pretty much the only "safe" metal seems to be sterling silver
@redenigma ugh that's rough!
@bfgreen it was really fun when a dentist put a gold crown on my tooth without asking first...
i had to go to a different dentist to get it out (crowns contain both gold & nickel to harden them). it took over 3 hours to get it out & then another hour for the ceramic replacement.
@bfgreen
Very nice! This is my Grail watch. I have a Seamaster (albeit a quartz model) that I bought new in 1998 and a Speedy would make a nice addition. It’s also the only chronograph I’m interested in.
