Despite what people think, #honeybees are very friendly and get to know their #beekeeper extremely well. Here are my girls licking my finger which has some honey on it. One keeps hold of my finger with her legs. They are so gentle and calm. #beekeeping #video #bees
@Myana ditto! When I started I wore full cover and was way too clumsy with them. As I learned and got to know that they know better than me, I was able to wear less protection. I routinely wear t-shirt and shorts now - the girls are super sweet. In fact, when they are not I know something's up - hive beetles or moths annoying them.

@bfgreen That shocked me when we got a hive: how friendly they were. As long as I didn't act like Godzilla (stomping around waving my arms) my bees were gentle.
When we first got them I used to gear up completely. Mask, suit, thick clothes underneath. After a month I was eating lunch beside the hive, unprotected.
They were sweet, sweet animals.
