Stayed in bed until 9am. I felt a mix of enjoyment and shame/guilt. But the only thing I am going to do today is shower, pick up 3 items at the store and maybe make a trial run of profiteroles. Maybe. I might save it all for Sunday.

I forgot today was Friday. Taking days off messes up my time awareness.
Once spouse is out of shower we’ll head out for provisions so I can try making the profiteroles I posted about yesterday. I need more/better piping tips & piping bags. I haven’t baked properly in forever.
Of course I will share my progress here with the tag.

Choux piped & in oven. Next time I’ll use a different tip; the star one is not favored.

Not bad. Holes poked, back in the oven to dry a lil bit. Yes the pan is upside down on purpose.

Bake went well I think. Top 3 rows were on bottom rack, bottom 3 rows were on top rack - interesting difference. Going to let them cool for an hour before I whip up the diplomat cream to fill them.

@annamuneca I’ll trade babka for some🙂

When the kids were little I made them fried doughnut holes from my dad’s recipe. This was a regular thing. Years later I found out I had been making choux pastry.

@floryloughead I would totally trade! I’m not 109% sure if I’ve had babka. I’ve made choux more times than I’ve baked brownies & cake combined.
