Douche Bag is a pejorative term that the source of the usage derives from female genitailia.
Maybe it's time we all stop using that term? (See my previous Toot about the Hubble Blind proposal review).
May I suggest "Colostomy Bag" as a suitable and universally applicable substitute?

I agree, and I would widen the scope a bit, as in "cocksucker", which to me describes a person committing a loving act (self-reference here ), but was used as an intenser form of "faggot ".

Oh yeah, it was a deadly insult if you were Catholic, and grew up under Pius XII (think that's right )or earlier, like my contemporaries on the Island or in the City. Also, Democrats were Communists.

Also, "scumbag "--another term for condom--derives its use as an insult from its use as a method of contraception, a grievous sin to older Catholics. You'd never call someone a scumbag unless you really hated them and were willing to fight.
