#NASA will hold a press conference today no earlier than 1 PM EDT / 10 AM PDT to announce their decision about how to proceed with the #Boeing #Starliner #CFT. It will stream live at the link.
The time is tentative, as a final review meeting is underway right now and could run late.
Among the many dumb things about "Gravity" ... and there are a lot ...
Why is there a Shenzhou at Tiangong? Spacecraft are only at a station to take crew to and from. There are no spares.
So where did the Chinese crew go?!
Not to mention that Tiangong-1 was at an entirely different orbit and altitude than ISS.
China licensed Soyuz from the Russians in the late 1990s, then modified it to their own needs, so no way Stone could have flown it.
And on and on and on ... 🤬
The #NASA #Boeing #Starliner #CFT livestream has begun. The press conference is scheduled for 1 PM EDT / 10 AM PDT.
#Boeing #Starliner #CFT will come home uncrewed, landing somewhere near White Sands NM, sometime in "early September."
Nelson: #Boeing wants to continue flying #Starliner. NASA needs multiple options, therefore needs Starliner as well as Dragon.
One thing for certain ... #Boeing #Starliner is going to get a bad Yelp review ... 😳

@WordsmithFL you think with such big name actors and budget they would have tried to get some of the science right.
I had to turn off my brain when I realized and had no idea why everything was in retrograde orbit
@Kinnison A certain retired female astronaut and I often worked together on presentations at #KSCVC. We had a mutual contempt for "Gravity." Mention the movie, and we were like the Three Stooges when someone mentioned Niagara Falls. We'd cast a glance and smile, because we knew we were about to go on a ten-minute rant about the movie.
To this day, we'll still text each other, "And another thing ..." 🤬
I spent more time trying to find mistakes then actually enjoying the movie. Trying to think which is worse. Gravity or Armageddon, but that is like trying to compare two unrecognizable pieces of rotten fruit. no one wins trying
@Kinnison "Armageddon" was just plain dumb. I didn't bother to watch it in a movie theater. I did go see "Deep Impact."
@WordsmithFL I find the movie much more watchable if you conclude that she dies at Tiangong and everything thereafter is a fever dream.
Yes, and it is about time
@WordsmithFL I think Boeing keeps taking enormous amounts of money to produce things that fail spectacularly and often, and we should stop letting them do any sort of business at all.

BREAKING ... Having watched the movie "Gravity," #NASA management will announce that the Starliner crew will return home via a Shenzhou docked at the Chinese space station. 🙄
