Saw today former #NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine speak at the monthly National Space Club #Florida luncheon.
Mostly insider stuff about U.S. space policy and politics. Talked at length about the importance of NASA being not just a diplomatic but also economc tool for international competition.
Two of the three questions he took from the audience were about UFOs. π
@WordsmithFL I feel for the guy. Having to field UFO questions must take the shine off a little.
@stuartblair When I worked at #KSCVC, I got those questions all the time. I replied, "NASA has released no evidence that Earth has been visited by aliens. Can life exist elsewhere? Probably. But everything we know about the laws of physics suggests it's impossible for vistors from other solar systems to come here."
By then, they dozed off because I didn't tell them what they wanted to hear.
@stuartblair Well, that's it exactly. They know NASA has released no evidence. If they persist, I say we go by fact and evidence, and that I've seen none.
If they push it, I say, "If you have any evidence that we've so far overlooked or missed, please by all means present it." They really don't like that.
