The news is… not good.
I feel shell shocked
@Vonzales I’m sorry - what you’re going through is one of the most difficult things in life. Be strong for him, but also, be there for yourself, get the support YOU need.😥❤️🩹
@Vonzales
I'm so sorry, just sending love and light
@Idissent
Thank you 🤜🤛
@Vonzales I'm sorry.
@Vonzales spend as much time as you can. be there for her. she may need support when she learns of everything and is angry.
@Vonzales: I'm way sorry to see this news, sir. I'm unfamiliar with cancer myself, as it hasn't been much close to my experience at this point. I do hope that your dad's docs can soon shed some light on what's going on and what options are available. The not knowing is invariably nerve-wracking, to be sure. *sending hugs*
@thedisasterautist
Thank you.
He's already acting like it's the end of the road.
I need to counter that somehow, but I gotta regroup first
get a hold of my own panic
@Vonzales @thedisasterautist
You've got the key there. You'll do the most good for your Dad after you catch your breath, have time to think and get some perspective.
Do you have access to any counseling for yourself? Some hospitals understand that relatives are also patients, and may have someone available, or at least direct you to the right resource.
Don't know what to say but that I hope for the best possible outcome.
My BFF from childhood has recently received a tumor diagnosis (lung: size of walnut), and his wife is a high-strung person.
So I made this comment to her, then him:
"We just found ourselves in the lifeboat with [husband] ~ now we have to pull together and row him ashore!"
It helped her calm her mind, a bit.
Best of wishes... to your Dad.
@Vonzales Make sure your dad knows you love him even if it's not your usual dialogue. Medical politics will be in play, kindness and courteousness will get you the furthest. If staff is being fantastic, consider some muffins or bagels, the goodwill that simple effort brings is a bargain. Lastly, be a facilitator, use active listening and reduce obstacles to the best outcomes where you see opportunity. Best of luck to you I hope your dad recovers and you have more time with him.☮️
Surgery’s on Wednesday.
Additional tests to be done afterwards.
I wish they’d already found a cure for this shit, it’d have been like removing a bad tooth 😑
