Sometimes having Soviet-born parents (whom you love) can be painful on the physical level.
On New Year’s Eve the last missile fired by Russia on Ukraine was registered at 2 AM.
The following morning my dad sent a video “postcard” in the family chat with a lyrical poem about peace and good will, recited by someone WITH THE FUCKING KREMLIN in the background.
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
@ayankdownunder Thanks
🥲
@Vonzales lol dads
@see_the_sus That’s the funny part, they moved to Greece (because of mom’s ethnic roots), but the Soviet virus sits deep inside their heads. It’s incurable.
I understand that. I've never really had that whole "my country is the best" virus, not even for the US. I was born in Naples, Italy (dad was in the Army) but we moved back to the States when I was three.
Even though I consider myself an honorary Italian 😂 I definitely don't view Italy thru rose-coloured glasses.
@Vonzales
😔… heartbreaking. I feel ya. Some of my family members whom I love fiercely are completely bought into the Q-MAGA illusion. The last years have taught a lot about unconditional love.
Sending comfort hugs… 🙏🏽💕✨
@TiarePalau thank you 🤗
@Vonzales ugh. Sending empathetic hug.💜
