Sometimes having Soviet-born parents (whom you love) can be painful on the physical level.

On New Year’s Eve the last missile fired by Russia on Ukraine was registered at 2 AM.

The following morning my dad sent a video “postcard” in the family chat with a lyrical poem about peace and good will, recited by someone WITH THE FUCKING KREMLIN in the background.

🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Oy vey. 😖 Sending a hug your way.

Do your parents still live in Russia?

@see_the_sus That’s the funny part, they moved to Greece (because of mom’s ethnic roots), but the Soviet virus sits deep inside their heads. It’s incurable.

@Vonzales

I understand that. I've never really had that whole "my country is the best" virus, not even for the US. I was born in Naples, Italy (dad was in the Army) but we moved back to the States when I was three.
Even though I consider myself an honorary Italian 😂 I definitely don't view Italy thru rose-coloured glasses.
