She taught herself the piano & played by ear in honky tonk bars. She performed her own abortion with knitting needle. She survived to 100.

My dad's mom had to divorce my grandfather in the early 1930s. The police said it was the only way they could legally stop him from beating the shit out of her.
She raised 4 kids on her own, but it wasn't easy.
