I'd heard about his son, and speculation that was the reason he decided to step down... but the info about him having appointed clerks for next term was new to me.
Definitely verifies (in my mind) that his hand was forced.
@tyghebright @CalypsoCats That's a kind way of putting it, *forced. It implies he has no choice but to sell out this country protecting crooked dealings his son chose to engage in. I guess I'm naive to think a SCOTUS justice might hold some things higher than nepotism. But you are right and evidence is clear.
@Usama_Backhair @tyghebright seems like a damned if he does.. damned if he doesn't situation.. and he would have to recuse himself from rulings regarding Trump.. i would think.. but i'm an artist so.. i don't really know how all this works.
@CalypsoCats @tyghebright :Well, regarding Trump if he'd recused himself from previous rulings involving him, it'd become widely known (surmised) there was a reason for it (I.E. his son's connection to him through Deutche), so to date, he hasn't. And his "retirement" might not only prevent majority Americans knowing that, it might allow the whole syndicate (incl trump) to get away with all of it. This must not, SHALL not pass. This is serious stuff.
@Usama_Backhair @tyghebright ooh has some of Trumps cases come before the supreme court?? Well, certainly there is a possibility that some will.. in the future. It is all very scary. I don't think Trump should be allowed to appoint any more justicies.. since.. well, it is obvious how he got in the whitehouse. How much can i scream COUP.. and will anyone care?
@CalypsoCats @tyghebright . And the "Travel Ban" and a few others have, and were ruled (eventually) in his favor.
@CalypsoCats @tyghebright True, and it only takes a little convincing, say.... from a pretend-president screaming "Fake News" about every fact in the news....to convince people who can't readily identify propaganda that facts are propaganda. As you said, Americans aren't good at spotting it, especially when it's coming from the president's mouth via Twitter.
